Detroit Expat Summer Weekend

What a perfect weekend - summer, sunshine, sausage! This years Detroit expat reunion was perfectly organized from our hosts in Thueringen - in the eastern part of Germany. We did beautiful hikes along the Rennsteig, had tons of the famous sausages (got even a surprise sausage snack on our hike!), had a beautiful lake (with really cold water), several birthdays to celebrate with cakes and fireworks, plenty of good drinks

....and after our serious preparation in the night before the game with a lot of expert talk....even a German soccer festival!!! Thank you for the organization - it was blast! See you all hopefully soon!

Stuttgart Halfmarathon Weekend with Michigan friends

This weekend was runners weekend - with great friends from Turino (that we know from Michigan). Saturday 4 year old Jolie had her first race ever (1km) with her mother Robin (on the photo at the finish line). Adrian her brother did the 1km as well successfully. On Sunday Robin, Fede and Anja ran the Stuttgart Halfmarathon - while Jupp watched the 3 kids. In the end we got even interviewed for the newspaper and we all had our medals! On top we had great food, some sightseeing with local champagne and lots of fun! Thank you for coming and we hope to see you guys soon!

A weekend in Prague

Prague is a beautiful city - the buildings old and stuning - a giant castle and impressive coffee houses (here the Savoy), even better all the beer halls. Unfortunately the weather was really really bad - one day it poured nonstop, the other days it was cold (10C in mid May!). But we had great hosts (thank you again!) and a good time! The weather is another reason to come back and see the city in the sunshine ;-)

At night we had the chance to walk over the Charles Bridge without any tourists and the dinner at SaSaSu was a delicious experience.

Stop by in Pilsen

On our drive back from Prague we stopped in Pilsen - were they brew the famous beer (here the historic entrance gate to the brewery). We saw one of the largest synagogues in the world and climbed the highest church tower of the Czech Republic (over 100meters high) to get a better view over the nice town.

We spent a perfect weekend in Munich!

A great host - thank you Gesche - a perfect beergarten and sightseeing day (with live Blasmusik near the Chinese Tower and some braveheart surfers in downtown) - a nice run (along the Olympic Park) and a beautiful wedding and farewell party from Silvi and Cliff. All the best and have a great move to New Jersey - we will hopefully see you there ;-)

Vitra Design House

In Weil am Rhein (next to the Swiss/French border) you find an amazing house full of beautifully designed furniture....you can walk thru and even make a wish list online....if you can afford it you order it staight away....we decided to just check the pieces out and get some new ideas ;-)
