Thailand - SG Kaufer goes backpacking

Finally vacation time for the family - 10h flight to Thailand for some sunshine, great beaches, amazing food, nice shopping - even with a 3 year old easy traveling in a completely different world!

... the ways to move are different: pink taxis, purple trains, 3 and more people on a scooter...

...the way to eat: all day round at every street corner - but very good!

...the way to life: relax and have a massage and somehow things get always organized!

Oktoberfest with the Americans

So the post marathon treat was the Oktoberfest in Stuttgart - The Wasn for Lorie and Craig. And they proofed marathon drinking, dancing and singing skills. What an evening - the guys even rode the rollercoasters after the beers....thank you for joining us and learn more about our German Oktoberfest culture :-)

Berlin Marathon Weekend with Lorie and Craig

They came for this special event all the way from Michigan - and it was a blast - the Berlin Marathon weekend with Lorie and Craig!

Awarm up sightseeing 6miler on Friday (easy jog along the main sights like Reichstag, Bundeskanzleramt, Checkpoint Charlie, Siegessaeule, Holocaust Memorial - and even a little test run ahead of the parked race car and the starting mile us well as thru Brandenburg Gate - which was already blocked for traffic - just the 3 of us jogging along ;-))

We left the town on Saturday for a nice stroll along the castles in Potsdam - Sanssouci etc. -

Finally on Sunday the big race - Ronja and me saw them twice along the route - Lorie smiling at km 19 and 42! The atmosphere along the course was outstanding - goose bumps for me and the finish area was just big beats and a lot of cheering before we could finally take the picture for the two of them with their medal! What an experience - who is in next year?!

Esslingen funkelt..

Late night shopping in Esslingen til midnight... with beautiful illuminations in the medival downtown - a nice way to spend your Saturday night!

Aleks and Paul over for the sundowner

They were a bit too late for this sunset....but enjoyed the delicious dinner at our place - Aleks and Paul with the newly weds! Good to see you again!

...and even the night before - we enjoyed a Thai dinner with the lovely girls ;-)

IAA Cars 2011 - Pressdays

2 day business trip to the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt - very interesting cars, impressive Audi presentation and tired feet from standing at the fair the whole day...
