We spent a perfect weekend in Munich!

A great host - thank you Gesche - a perfect beergarten and sightseeing day (with live Blasmusik near the Chinese Tower and some braveheart surfers in downtown) - a nice run (along the Olympic Park) and a beautiful wedding and farewell party from Silvi and Cliff. All the best and have a great move to New Jersey - we will hopefully see you there ;-)

Vitra Design House

In Weil am Rhein (next to the Swiss/French border) you find an amazing house full of beautifully designed furniture....you can walk thru and even make a wish list online....if you can afford it you order it staight away....we decided to just check the pieces out and get some new ideas ;-)

Detroit Expat Ski Weekend in Austria

The old group finally got together for a fun weekend in Kuehtai, Austria. After an adventurous trip (some of us got stuck in the snow others "lost" their back window of the car!) we enjoyed the reunion with good food and drinks, awesome weather and fresh powder skiing!

The floor party after skiing in our little "alm" was little bit like in old times at university ;-)

By the second day the group of active skiers got smaller due to some minor injuries/colds etc. but the fresh powder that we got overnight gave us a perfect season finale.

Thank you all for coming and we are looking forward to meet the group again - see you all 4th July!

Goal for the SG Kaufer in 2010 - Athens Marathon

Today I signed up for THE race in 2010 - the Athens classic marathon.

It will be the 2500 year anniversary of the original first run of Phidippides (490 B.C.). The course is tough so just make it from Marathon to Athens into the old Olympic Stadium is the goal!

Ischgl Ski Weekend with Ed from Michigan

Just over for the weekend but the full program! Our friend Ed is the first visitor from Michigan who made the trip to our new home. For him it was the first time in Europe - so we arranged three countries in two days - ok, while skiing only! ;-) (Austria - Switzerland - Germany)

But the mountains were spectacular - the weather outstanding and in Ischgl the party scene is one of a kind - Ed was really surprised about the German Apres Ski singing and dancing :-) We had a blast - thanks for being over!

Night-Skiing with Big Mick

A spontanous activity - night skiing with our friend Mick at the hills nearby. A little like Mt. Holly or Alpine Valley in Michigan - we were all too fast for the pictures, but at the Apres-Ski we showed our best game ;-)

Visit at the Presidents' new place

Our friends - the Presidents' moved to Leipzig and finally we had the chance to visit their new home! We like it a lot - the brandnew kitchen and the great decoration they did (the Pirate room is awesome!). We had plenty to talk about and catch up with - so some bottles of wines were empty and it felt like old times in Detroit! Thx for the evening and the breakfast before we continued our trip to Berlin.
